Light Up Clermont, Holidays Around the World

Light Up Clermont 2018When: November 30, 2018 – December 1, 2018

Join the Clermont Community for the annual Light Up Clermont, the event that is on top of everyone’s holiday event list.

Start the weekend with the yearly tree-lighting ceremony happening on Friday, November 30 at 6:30 pm. But, the fun doesn’t stop there! Enjoy an old-fashioned Christmas parade, carols, visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, food trucks and a kids-zone.

Holiday Market

When: Saturday, December 1, 2018 (8:00 am)
Where: Minneola City Hall (800 Highway 27, Minneola, FL)
Cost: Free

The Nutcracker at the Mount Dora Community Center

When: Saturday December 1 (7:00 pm) & Sunday December 2 (2:00 pm)
Where: Mount Dora Community Center (520 N. Baker St, Mount Dora, FL)

Enjoy the ballet of the season at the Mount Dora Community Center just outside of Clermont, FL performed by the Mount Dora School of Ballet. Under the direction of Kathryn Wheeler, the cast and guest artists are sure to delight as they take you through The Land of Sweets this holiday season.

2018 Wine & Chocolate Festival

When: Friday December 7 & Saturday December 8 (10:00 am – 5:00 pm) & Sunday December 9 (11:00 am – 5:00 pm)
Where: Lake Ridge Winery (19239 U.S. 27 North, Clermont, FL)

One of their most popular events of the year, Lake Ridge Winery brings together two of the best things: wine and chocolate!

Local chocolatiers will be on hand with delicious treats, as well as local crafters and artists. Enjoy live music on their outdoor stage along with complimentary Winery tours and tastings. Grab the kids and play a few lawn games as well!

Everyone is in the holiday spirit of giving with a portion of the proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House Charity of Central Florida.

It’s a Wonderful Life: A Radio Play

When: Friday December 7 (8:00 pm), Saturday December 8 (8:00 pm), Sunday December 9 (2:30 pm), Monday December 10 (8:00 pm), Friday December 14 (8:00 pm), Saturday December 15 (2:30 pm & 8:00 pm) and Sunday December 16 (8:00 pm).

It’s the classic everyone loves brought to Clermont.

Light Up Groveland: Winter Wonderland

When: Saturday, December 8 (8:00 am – 8:00 pm)
Where: Downtown Groveland Festival Park
Cost: Free Admission

This whole-day event is packed full of Holiday Events!

Start the morning with the Elf Run 5K before attending the Festival Park’s Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting.

Enjoy an afternoon with live music, holiday vendors, food trucks and a kids zone with a video fame truck, obstacle course and rock wall, face painting, bounce houses and more.

End the night with the 27th Annual Christmas Parade, Tree Light Ceremony and a guest appearance from Santa! It really is holiday fun for the whole family.

Santa Fun Run 5K

When: Saturday, December 8. 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Where: Waterfront Park (330 3rd Street, Clermont, FL)
Cost: $35 (10K), $25 (5K) and $15 (1K)

The Santa Fun Run is back! While may not on everyone’s Things to Do in Clermont list, but for those that love getting a little sweat on before Christmas, this is the Holiday Event for you.

Not only is running great for you, its great for the Clermont Community! This year’s proceeds benefit the Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation and local Educational Scholarships.

A Sleeping Beauty Christmas

When: December 15, 2018 (3:00 pm – 5:00 pm)
Where: Clermont Performing Arts Center (3700 S. Highway 17, Clermont, FL)
Cost: $8 – $16

Enjoy this original musical based on the classic fairy tale — with a holiday twist of course! This journey of love and hope is full of Christmas cheer and music, follow the King and Queen as they celebrate the birth of Princess Aurora with a Christmas Party.

1st Annual Moonlight Christmas Parade

When: Saturday, December 15 (5:30 pm)
Where: 5 Main Ave & Lake Minneola to End of N. Main Ave
Cost: Free

It’s always fun to be a part of firsts! This holiday season join the Minneola community for their first ever Moonlight Christmas Parade. With festive floats, crafts, an indoor movie and snacks it will be fun for the whole family!

Make sure to join Santa’s Activity Workshop from 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm!

Santa’s Twilight 5K

When: December 15, 2018 (6:00 pm – 8:00 pm)
Where: Historic Downtown Clermont (685 W. Montrose St.)
Cost: $39 (if you register by 12/14/18) or $45 (if you register on Race Day), $5 (Youth)

Run through Historic Downtown Clermont in his holiday-themed race — you may even see Santa (or maybe a few Santas)!

With a well-monitored and well-lit course that they have dialed-in over the years, this race is for everyone. And with hot chocolate and holiday cookies at the finish, running is worth it.

Finishers receive a medal and event shirt upon completion with additional awards going to the top three overall, top masters and top three in each division (male and female). Not super fast, but want to win an award? There are also special costume awards so dress to impress.

Join 60+ regular vendors, seasonal vendors and local artisans and shops every Sunday in the open-air Farmer’s Market.
